You need to read all the way through to the bottom, because, as Tim says, "The good things trickle down to the bottom!"

It has been way too long since I have been on here to update!!!
Christmas and New Years have come and gone. I hope and pray that you all had a good time with families and friends. The holidays should be a wonderful time but tend to also be very stressful. With the new year come all the resolutions to start again to get healthier and shed some pounds. We would like to help you be successful with that. Vicki and I are here for advice and/or personal training.
We are running a special on training through January. For every 8 sessions purchased, you get one complimentary session. So an 8 session package becomes 9, 16 becomes 18, and so on.
We also have our 3rd Annual Biggest Loser contest starting the week of January 15. It is going to be a little different this year. We try to add a new dimension to it every year. I hope you enjoy it. Check farther down the list for more details.
Come join us at Jo's Gym to get healthy and Build A Better You!
Start your new year with your friends, at Jo's Gym!

You can purchase unlimited monthly punch cards for $20 & $30, respectively. These cards are good for one month, no matter how many classes you take. You can purchase 5 and 10 class punch cards, also. These cards are good until used up, no expiration date. With the ten class card, you only pay for nine classes so you get one at no charge.

Jo's Gym has sponsored a race car at Raceway Park for the past two years. Charity Schneider is the driver of the car. She is a very good driver and fun to watch! Last year, she was Rookie of the Year. This year, she was even better than last year! She won several of her heats and also feature races. This year she made track history by taking first place in the Bomber Division---- never before since the beginning of Raceway Park back in the fifites, has a woman won a division title---RACING AGAINST THE MEN!!
YEAH CHARITY!!!!!!! GREAT JOB!!!!
**********************************************************************
Remember, you need to have a punch card to take classes or have cash. There are several different options as far as how much and how to pay for the classes. We have a very good variety of classes and a wide range of times for them, too. Join us!

The 3rd Annual Biggest Loser Contest
starts the week of January 15 and runs to the week of April 15--12 weeks! We have some fun "mini" competitions planned for this year. There is a $30 fee to participate, but this all goes back to the members as reward money for being the BIGGEST LOSERS! We are having it as an individual competition this year, men against men and women against women. Come in and get measured and get started! Find out "the rest of the story" when you sign up!

I would like to clarify one thing about our Yoga class. For those of you who are looking for the stretch, strength and relaxation Yoga brings, that is what our Yoga class offers.
We do not include the meditation aspect that some (or possibly most) Yoga classes offer. If that is a part of what you are looking for in a Yoga class, I am sorry that is not part of our class. The Yoga we offer is great for relaxation, stretch and strength. Even if you want the meditation aspect, you will still love our Yoga class. Allison does a great job teaching the positions and making the class an experience you will want to do again. As you might have noticed, we have more instructors for the Yoga class. Kathy and Diana are also teaching the class. It is great to have more instructors to add their own touch to the class and also to insure that there will be a class each day!

We have a new day for our evening BootCamp class. It is now on Sunday night at 7:00 PM--was on Monday night at 8:00 PM. It is a great class! Susan is very energetic and fun! This is a great strength and cardio workout. This class is only as challenging as you want to make it, and Susan makes sure it can be tough if you want it to be! You have to come and try it!
**********************************************************************
We are going to have some early morning classes for those early risers or early-to-work people to enjoy. Join us for 5:30 AM Bootcamp and 5:30 AM Step class!
These are great class additions! If this is a time that you have been asking for, please come and join in the classes. It is a great way to start the day! The instructors are "bright eyed" and ready to get you pumped. As long as we have people coming to class, we will continue to hold the class. So if this is your good class time, I won't see you there, but Susan and Tina will! Come and get the blood pumping. A thirty minute work out is very good for the working of your brain. It sends necessary protiens to the brain that help the thinking process. You have to try it to see how good you feel after starting the day with a good workout!

Bev is doing three morning SloRobics classes on Wednesday and Friday mornings at 10:45am and also at 9 am on Tuesday mornings. This is a great class for the beginner or one who cannot do the high impact aerobics, but still wants to get the cardio and strength of a good workout.
Bev's class is great!
On Tuesday at 5:15pm is our standby 15 Minute Abs class--the one everyone loves to hate, or is it hates to love??? Anyway, the class is going to be offered now on Thursday with a little more, depending on what I want to add that day--could be "butt" exercises or legs or both! The Thursday class will start at 5:15pm and go for 30 mins. Come down and see what you can do! Strengthen your core with a really intense abs workout. It is only as intense as you make it, as it is with all the classes. You get out of them what you put into them.
Vicki's Wednesday Step class is at a new time--7:00pm! That might be a better time for most people who love that class. It is a great cardio workout with a very energetic and fun instructor. She has added a new class to her list of things she does here. She now teaches a 9 am class on Monday mornings. It is not as "intense" as her evening Step class but higher paced than Bev's class---you just have to come and experience it!!! With Vicki, it is always an experience you will remember cuz your muscles won't let you forget!
Yoga will have two-or maybe three!-instructors take turns with the class. They are all excellent instructors and have their own "twist" to give to the class. It is going to be basically just Yoga now without the Pilates. Let us know what you think of the class.
We have a new instructor teaching Bootcamp, because in case you didn't know, Jahnna, who WAS the instructor, was pregnant and now has a little boy-Elijah, and also has moved out of our community. We will miss her cuz she was fun, but I am certain Susan will be a good new addition. I have taken her class and it is good! I got a good workout! ---As you know, the workout is as intense as you make it. This is a great class!
We are adding KICKBOXING back into the class schedule--tell your friends! I know alot of you have been waiting the return of this class! It will be great, too. We have two instructors to teach this class, too. It wil be very good! I can't wait!!!
Vicki is in charge of the class scheduling. If you have any questions, you can ask Vicki or me. She is doing a very well with this and you can look forward to more energized classes. We have more NEW classes to come----can't give you everything at once!!!

Jo's Gym has been chosen as one of the gyms to implement a new program for seniors. It is called "Silver & Fit". It is being offered through Blue Cross and Blue Shield. The start date is January 1, 2008. Keep watching for more details. We are hoping that there will be an additional program starting next year for those under the age of 65, too. It is going to be a good program.
More details to come!!!!

We have some new instructors for this fall. I am very anxious to get them all here and with all the members. It is going to be fun once all the new classes start! If you have any input on classes you would like to do, email me(Jo@JosGym.com) or call(952-492-7773) and leave me a message---I say leave a message because if I am on the floor training with a client, I can't answer the phone but I will get a message.
Remember, non-members can also come and join in the classes. There is a $5.00 charge for non-members, per class.
Come down and talk to me about it. It is a great new membership to help you to keep each other motivated

I am trying to work on Health Partners to get them to cover our gym with the health club benefit that they offer. I have spoken with customer service. It is now up to you members to make the "NOISE" necessary to get them to pick up Jo's Gym as one of their "preferred clubs". Please call and call again to let them know we want to be a part of the network of covered clubs.
You will make the difference. I can only call and be the voice of one. It takes their insured's to make the "waves".
I spoke with Monique @ Health Partners on 9-17. She said they have the gyms all set for 2007 that they will be adding. We are not on that list. They are trying to add gyms in areas where they don't yet have gyms. We could potentially be added in 2008. We are "on the list". She said they need to take care of those areas first. Please continue to call Member Services to let your voice be heard. Make sure, be adamant about being recorded as calling inquiring about this. Apparently not all of the calls have been recorded. Which means if you have already called, they didn't record it. Please call again!
It has been a new time in life for me. The first year with no kids in school--at least not high school. Stephen is in college so we have that! The cold brings with it all the coats and gloves and cold noses! I don't like being cold but seem to like the cold to a point. As long as one is properly dressed, it is ok. Then if one has a snowmobile, preferably a 'Cat, it is even more tolerable, even fun!!!
I hope the winter brings many good things to each and every one of you. You are all the reason I am doing this gym. It is for the good of the people. We need to be healthy to have a good time in life and just to be able to DO life! That is my heart, to help people. We all need to make a living, though, so I do have to charge people! DARN!! Oh, well, life goes on.... I am more than happy to take time if you have problems or questions. Please just call me.(952-492-7773) It seems I am here all the time until someone stops by, that is the 10 minutes I run back to Subway to to get a quick snadwich or something to that effect. I will get back to you, though. Please just leave me a message.
